We aim to eliminate all class-one accidents (accidents that result in fatality or permanently alter a person’s life) and to minimize, and ultimately eliminate, all lost-time accidents on sites. In order to achieve this objective we commit to the following policies:

• We comply with all the current safety & health legislations, approved codes of practice and the occupational health & safety management system requirement under OHSAS 18001.

• We identify hazards and assess all the operations for risks to health and safety, as far as is reasonably practicable, and conduct operations under the control measures determined, following risk assessment so as to control hazards and provide a safe system of work and hence reduce accidents, incidents and near misses.

• We provide adequate information on risks and preventive / protective procedures to those people involved in or adversely affected by our activities. We also provide appropriate training to ensure that all employees are competent enough to carry out their designated duties.

• We communicate these policies and the requirements for their implementation, relevant safety standards and information, to all levels of staff and Safety Representatives. We actively consult with our employees and promote their involvement and participation in order to develop the positive health and safety culture which reflects company values and continuously improves the company’s performance in areas of occupational health and safety.

• We implement procedures and use only the services of competent subcontractors who provide competent personnel and operate in compliance with legislation and company procedures. All subcontractors are vetted for approval in accordance with company procedures.

• We develop and implement an ongoing training program, the objective of which is to provide staff with the competence, support and confidence to meet their responsibilities and duties.

• We verify that all goods, materials and products are safe to use and are used in accordance with safety standards and norms, in so far as is reasonably practicable.

• We secure, as far as reasonably practicable, the safety, health and welfare of all persons involved in and those who may be adversely affected by our works in order to comply with legal requirements and provide a caring environment.

• We use only competent professional services in the engagement of external professional consultants.

• We provide adequate resource to implement these safety policies.
